The family and friends of Ersilia announce the formation of the Orange Rose Foundation; a 501(c)3 charity focusing on supporting organizations that assist victims of domestic violence. Orange Rose, Ersilia’s favorite flower, signifies Ersilia’s beauty, strength, passion, excitement, and love for her family and friends.
To operate for the purpose of working towards the ending of domestic violence, by encouraging awareness of domestic violence, advocating for laws intended to help victims of domestic violence, and supporting programs that are aiding those who have suffered or are suffering from domestic violence.
To remove the stigma associated with domestic violence and to one day see a time when all victims feel empowered to seek help and end living in fear.
The Orange Rose Foundation is directed by:

Our goal since the loss of Ersilia has been to continue her mission in giving back to the community and several organizations that support those in need.
With the help and guidance of the Everett Kiwanis Club in developing the Ersilia memorial fund, We have been able to participate in and helped run a number of events including the annual "Walk for Ersilia", Kiwanis Bocce tournament "Ersilia Cup", as well as several walks and runs family and friends participated in during the years and will continue to participate in in the coming years. Also, Metro Credit Union hosted an amazing Gala that contributed funds directly to The Kiwanis Ersilia fund, Portal to Hope and Harbor Cove.
Both Portal of Hope and Harbor Cove are non-profit organizations committed to helping victims of domestic violence.
Portal to Hope have use the funds to create a Stabilization Program in Ersilia's name. This program has provided emergency support to anyone who needs to leave their current situation and is in need of shelter, food, etc. The Orange Rose Foundation will continue to contribute to the Portal To Hope Stabilization Program to assist in ensuring support for victims of domestic violence. This fund has provided stabilization support to survivors who are trying to rebuild their lives and are in need of relocating to more permanent state housing.
Because of our partnership with Portal to Hope services provided were:
This is an idea of how much your donation can make a difference.
Ersilia was also committed to education, having served on the Everett School Committee. A portion of the funds raised has gone to scholarships provided to Everett High School Seniors.
We are committed to continuing to be a part of these great fundraisers and do all we can to be able to support these programs.
We are not sure we will be able to do as much good as Ersilia did, but we will try!
